Unmanaged Drums - Hidden Environmental Risk

Abandoned or poorly stored drums, particularly those used for fuel, oil, or chemical storage, pose a significant environmental and regulatory risk if left unmanaged. At Integrated Environmental, we routinely encounter such legacy waste on commercial and industrial sites across New South Wales.

The images above were taken at two separate sites, both illustrating the deteriorating condition of unregistered and corroded drums. Several of the drums show advanced rusting and perforation, with some visibly leaking or in direct contact with soil and vegetation. These conditions significantly increase the potential for hydrocarbon or chemical leachate to contaminate the surrounding soil and groundwater.
